LDG is a full service Design Company that works with its clients on a variety of levels. Our 20+ years of Design/Build experience provides us with one of the most well rounded Landscape Design and Consultation services in the area. We work with homeowners, builders, and design/build companies in all facets of landscape design and consultation. We focus on design, and builders/installers focus on what they do best…. building.

What do we do best?

First, and foremost…. LISTEN and COMMUNICATE. We are capable of designing ALL Hardscape elements, Planting, Patios, Walks, Master Planning, Outdoor Kitchens/BBQ’s, Water Features, Pergolas, Decks, Pools, Outdoor Lighting, Retaining Walls, Drainage Solutions, Rain Gardens, Bocce Courts, Drives, Courtyards, Rooftops……. Long story short, anything you can think of.

Do we have a minimum charge for our design services?
Yes, and we would be honored to be a part of ANY size project. For smaller projects we do have a $500 min. Design Fee.  This equates to a roughly $5K project, which in most cases can be installed in one day.

How does this work?

Our typical process will start with a no obligation consultation. In this first meeting will will discuss your goals and how we make them a reality. We will discuss budgets and whether you are interested in tackling the entire project at once, or perhaps you are thinking this will be a multistep process over several years. We will also delve into problems/issues you may have ranging from: wet backyard/basement, drainage, erosion, the need for privacy screening, things may be very dark, too sunny, too much maintenance, not enough lawn, kids can’t play on slope, and the list goes on. We will provide solutions to all of these concerns.

From this meeting we will follow up with a breakdown of those goals, our included services and Design Fee. Our typical Design Fee is 3-5% of the total project cost. This fee does vary depending on the complexity of the project. 

Working with a known budget provides a much more efficient (and cost effective) design process. During our initial mtg we discuss a very general breakdown of costs based on wants and needs.

Should we find ourselves to be a good fit for each other we dive in!

We do require an official Plat of Survey before starting any design work. This is the true foundation and what we build our design from. This Plat information is imported into our CAD software where our official basemap is created. Our next step is determining any/all Village codes that will affect the overall layout of the project. Every Village has different codes and none are like the other. This is one of the most critical steps of our entire process.

Once we have imported your Plat of Survey into our CAD software we are off to the races. We will start with an in depth, on site inventory of your entire property (or project location). All of this information is overlayed on our Plat of Survey. From here will will begin to design!

Once our initial design is complete we will send a scaled PDF for your initial review. At this point we will be heading in the right direction, but there is no question revisions will be needed. A specific time for these revisions are included in your design fee. Once your amazing, one of a kind and completely custom design is complete we have several options on how to move forward.

Although LDG DOES NOT provide installation of our designs, we have great relationships with many of the most well respected design/build companies in the area. We would be happy to help drive that process or we can also send the design to your preferred installer who’d we’d love to work with. At this point you will contract directly with your chosen installation company to begin your installation process. As you are going thru the build process we will be available to help guide you should questions/concerns arise. 

In the end you now have that beautiful space you’ve dreamed of and LDG will be available for any future projects or needs! Our second goal is to create some amazing, long term relationships.

Should you be interested in other services outside of our base design agreement we will be happy to outline options for you. These options are for rendering services, 3D modeling, material selection (outside of recommended materials included in your design package), Bidding consultation/management, Project Management services/oversight, or simply checking in with you for “tune ups” over time.
