Lakeside Design Group was created for those looking for an absolutely amazing design process that will ensure the dream of your perfect space is built for the best cost available to you. With over 20 years of experience in the residential Design/Build industry, we felt there was a need for homeowners to have access to the best design services possible from that first phone call. With that perfect design in hand we will utilize the amazing community of installation resources we have here in the Western Suburbs to find the best fit for you and your budget.   

Founder, Todd Dickey, graduated from Syracuse University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture. He spent the first 10 years of his career working at one of Washington DC’s most talented residential Landscape Architecture firms. Here Todd was exposed to an attention to detail like none other.  In 2010, Todd ventured to the midwest with his wife Ellen, a Glen Ellyn native, where they along with three beautiful daughters currently reside. They have a particular fondness for Lakeside, MI where the name “LDG” originated. 

He spent the next 12 years working at three of the most well established Landscape Design/Build companies in the Western Suburbs. Here he was heavily involved in the development of estimating systems for each of these companies while designing and overseeing the installation of absolutely amazing projects of all scopes and sizes.

The most critical part of the design approach is having an unparalleled understanding of the installation and permit process. This understanding creates the most efficiently designed and cost effective projects from the get go. Our very first step is to fully understand municiple codes – which allows what is being presented to actually be built. Too many times have we seen plans provided by others that are extremely over budget and/or not allowable if submitted for permit. While Todd’s true passion is design, this understanding is a critical part of the design process. Lakeside Design Group’s ONLY focus is utilizing the 20+ of design/build experience to provide its clients a clear and concise roadmap to success. 

Once your dream design has become a reality, LDG provides the option to oversee the bidding and construction process. We are your eyes and ears throughout the entire process. Our goal is providing you with an outstanding, unique, and truly one of kind project of your own…. and have fun doing it.
